FINANCIAL STEWARDSHIP UPDATE

For the year 2009, 227 member households pledged $505,045. So far St. Martin’s has received 217 pledges for 2010 for a total of $457,607.00*. If you are among the 10 households who have not yet pledged for the year 2010, please consider doing that soon.

*In response to the Vestry forum presentation on February 14, increased pledges have been received totaling an additional $1450, reflected in the new total.

Thank you.

WELCOME TO THE CHURCH OF ST. MARTIN-IN-THE-FIELDS!

Located in the Chestnut Hill section of Philadelphia, St. Martin’s offers four services on most Sundays (there are always exceptions to the rule!):

8 a.m. Holy Eucharist, a traditional Rite II service with homily
9 a.m. Holy Eucharist, a service planned with older children and youth in mind
10:15 a.m. Holy Eucharist, offered especially for pre-school children and their families
11:15 a.m. Holy Eucharist, a full-sermon and the St. Martin’s Choir

Christian education for all ages is offered during the 10 o’clock hour.

On the first Sunday of each month through May, at 5 p.m. we add Choral Evensong to the line up.

On the first Monday of each month at 7:30 p.m. and every Wednesday at noon, Holy Eucharist with Healing is offered in the chapel.

We’d love to have you join us!

EASTER FLOWERS

Year ‘round, the Flower Guild arrangers at St. Martin’s create floral (or in Lent, non-floral) displays that contribute significantly to our worship. Most often, the flowers are given in memory of a loved one. Sometimes the flowers are given in thanksgiving for a birthday, a baptism or a marriage. This year, when Lent concludes, we will once again have flowers in the church – to rejoice in the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ!

Please contribute to the art of the Guild by contacting Connie Haggard (215.247.7466 ×116) with the name(s) of those you would like to remember at Easter. Please speak slowly and clearly when leaving a message – give your name and spell names. If you have questions, you may address them to Connie.

Deadline for names: MARCH 23. We would appreciate having your financial donations by Easter (please put “Easter flowers” on the memo line of your check). Thank you!

DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME

Don’t forget to “spring ahead” on Saturday night, March 13. (Set your clocks and watches forward one hour!!!)

WHO WILL WATCH WITH US FOR JUST ONE HOUR?

The Maundy Thursday / Good Friday Vigil is a profoundly moving way to spend an hour. All are welcome to choose an hour between 9 p.m. Thursday and noon on Good Friday to watch with Christ. (Those who wish to anchor each hour should sign up on the poster in the parish house foyer).
